What a virtual restaurant is
A virtual restaurant is a food brand with a full menu and no dining room. It exists in delivery apps, while its dishes are prepared in the kitchen of an existing restaurant.
One kitchen runs its own restaurant brand and one or more virtual brands at the same time. Customers see separate restaurants, each with a name, menu and photos. For you, it is the same cooking line, equipment and team.
You may hear the terms virtual brand, dark kitchen or ghost kitchen. Here we look at one specific situation: you already run a venue and want your kitchen to sell more, without opening a second location, adding a dining room or introducing another shift.
Two options: our brand or yours
Before looking at equipment and hours, choose an approach. There are two, and you can combine them.
The first is cooking dishes from our brands. You get a ready menu and brand communication, with recipes and a shopping list on request. You choose the hours and use your existing equipment. We handle platform profiles, photos, dish descriptions and marketing. See the kitchen model for details.
The second is putting your own brand into delivery. If you have good food but no time for several dashboards, we list and manage your brand across the apps: profiles, photos, descriptions, prices, promotions, reviews and complaints. See management of your own brand.
You can do both. Orders for our brands and yours then reach the same device, and your team still manages one queue.
What to check before you start
Three things determine whether this makes sense: quiet kitchen hours, spare capacity at the collection counter and the equipment you already have.
Start with hours. Look at a normal week and note when the cooking line is fully occupied and when cooks wait for tickets. If lunch is busy but orders slow after 14:00, those afternoon hours are worth considering. Our article on quiet kitchen hours explains their cost and how to fill them.
Then consider capacity. The question is where work gets held up today, rather than how many dishes the kitchen could make in theory. The bottleneck might be the grill, fryer or collection counter, where plates for the dining room meet bags for couriers. Knowing it helps us choose a brand that uses different capacity.
Finally, equipment. Concepts use standard equipment such as an oven, convection oven, fryer and grill. We match the brand to the kitchen. A kitchen serving tortillas and kebab suits a different brand from one frying cutlets or preparing lunch dishes.
Think through a few practical questions too:
- Where will the order device stand, and who will use it?
- Where can ready bags wait without couriers obstructing waiting staff?
- Does your takeaway packaging suit the new dishes?
- Who will be our day-to-day contact in the team?
None of these questions requires a renovation. They help your team prepare for the first delivery day.
Starting step by step
There are four stages. You do not need to close your venue or rebuild the kitchen.
- Enquiry. Leave your phone number and the venue's name and address. We call back within 24 hours on working days.
- Free consultation. We ask about equipment, menu and kitchen hours, then choose a suitable brand. If it does not make sense, we say so. From this point, you have a contact who advises you throughout our cooperation.
- Brand launch. We handle platform paperwork, profiles, photos, descriptions, kitchen training and Rebel APP integration.
- First orders. Orders arrive on one device. We handle customer service and complaints.
You sign one agreement with us. Platform agreements, profiles and paperwork are our responsibility. You connect the tablet to Wi-Fi.
Your dishes appear in apps customers already use: Glovo, Uber Eats, Wolt, Bolt Food, SocialFood and Pyszne.pl. You do not need to create accounts or learn each dashboard.
How long it takes
The conversation and free consultation take a few days. Creating profiles, photos and descriptions and training the team usually takes around two weeks after consultation. The actual launch date depends on platform approval and readiness.
Orders can arrive as soon as you launch, but building sales at a location takes further weeks. A new brand needs its first reviews and visibility in the apps. Treat the first month as a start-up period and assess how the model works in later months.
Your job during this time is to cook well and on time. Reviews depend heavily on food arriving warm, complete and as shown in the photos.
Everyday kitchen work
Orders from every app reach one Rebel APP device, rather than several tablets with separate chargers and sounds. The same screen controls the menu and venue availability. Switch off a sold-out product once and it disappears from every platform.
You decide when the brand is available. If your dining room is full on Friday evening, reserve delivery for quieter hours. With Mniamciu, you list only dishes you have that day. You use ingredients you already buy and choose your own suppliers.
Customers with complaints do not call your kitchen. We handle customer service and complaints, while your team keeps cooking.
Prices and portion sizes for our brands are consistent across the network. You do not need to set prices or manage promotions. We welcome suggestions and consider them seriously.
Where the earnings come from
You sell food made with capacity you are not using today. Equipment is running, lights are on and the team is working. An order in a previously quiet hour brings revenue that was not there before.
With our brands, there are no joining or monthly fees. We charge 35% of each transaction and cover marketing costs and platform commissions. If you do not earn, neither do we.
Settlement is monthly. You receive a VAT invoice for our commission, and the rest goes directly to your account. The agreement has no fixed end date; you can leave at any time with one email.
Our partners handle an average of 150 to 600 orders a month, bringing up to PLN 40,000 in additional monthly revenue. Your result depends on location, brand and opening hours. Our article on calculating virtual restaurant earnings explains how to work it out for your kitchen.
Where to start today
You do not need to prepare a written proposal. Know when your kitchen is quiet, which equipment is on the line and what is on your menu.
Leave your phone number and the venue's name and address in the form. We call back within 24 hours on working days to arrange a free consultation. If your kitchen is unsuitable, we will tell you before you sign anything.
